Caydenboy's front incisors

Cayden-boy was feverish that night. Mama and I were really worried for him. We tried looking down his throats for signs of illness and to our surprise, we founding two budding teeth hidden between his gums! Aha! No wonder Cayden-boy’s been actively chewing things (markers, bottles, cap, magnets, ans whatever that is small enough to fit into his mouth..)

Cayden-boy begins teething in his 10th month (July 2010). Quickly do some reading up on “infant teething” and realized that it was quite unusual for kids to begin teething with front incisors. However, every kid is unique. The teething timeline somehow has got to do with us (parents)! To my disappointment, both grandparents had no idea how our teeth were formed… So the mystery as to why Cayden-boy’s teeth development begins with the front incisors remains..

Cayden-boy hates people looking into his mouth, treating him like an alien. He would turn away and even starts to whine if we tried peeping into his mouth. We had no choice. Mama will always ask Cayden-boy this question when we get into the lift.. “Who is that ?! Who is that ar?” pointing to the mirror above. Cayden-boy will look up and smile when he found himself in the mirror. I would then have a few seconds peeping into his mouth to inspect the status of his front incisors. We would then laugh upon seeing his budding teeth.

I would now “close one eye” when cayden-boy starts chewing his toys. At this moment, we are very careful when we leave Cayden-boy to play on his own. It is not surprising when he pulls out the door stopper and begins chewing!
I heard stories on how some parents leave their children to explore and learn through experiences - “Once the kid knows that door stopper is smelly and awful, he will not want to put it into his mouth again.”
There are many ways to learn things - the easy or hard way. I would definitely choose to let Cayden-boy learn though the easiest methods... Unless left with no choice, then I guess we had to be hard hearted and let Cayden-boy learn his lessons in the hard way..
