Birthday lunch gathering with Miss Dong

Took a weekend off last week as it was really exhausting to meet the dateline to release Gerber. Just wanted to give my mind some rest and update the blog in a later time..

Thinking that i was able to update the blog...
And here I was, cracking my brain, trying to recall what I did last weekend....

Age is really catching up on me...

Gave up thinking, and tried my luck with the iPhone and the camera SD card.
Ah ha.....

We had a lunch celebration with Miss Dong over the last weekend!

Luckily, Yixin attended her Yoga class diligently...

Uncle Peter preparing to bring Cayden-boy for a walk

And guess what...
Yixin smells a rat.. she wants to follow too!
Uncle Peter starts to act macho and calls Yixin to his side...

Uncle Peter "左拥右抱ing" Cayden-boy and Yixin

Applaud to the macho uncle, I quickly stuff some food into my throat as I know, the next one to walk Cayden-boy will be me!

The food is so-so, I think the zest is in the "gathering of the sisters".
Judging from the gathering, I believe that gatherings in future will be definitely be nosier, more lively and strenuous!

Resort World Sentosa (RWS)

RWS seems like a place of entertainment, food and endless shopping. The images of Resort World Genting less the cool, mountainous atmosphere keeps flashing across my mind.

Thanks to my pal Lipsing that I have this chance of visiting RWS, changing my mindset of RWS. He had booked a family hotel stay at Festive Hotel and invited us over to have a day's fun with his family!

It was difficult job taking photos with 4.. children.. Someone is missing....

As I mentioned above.. It's really tough job to.... Lol, just another excuse for my poor photography skills..

As we walked along the RWS, I found most of the shopping facilities were targeting at people who have struck Toto, people who are damn rich, people who are obsessive with brands or average income people who have lost their minds.

Well, I admit... I am just a "吃不饱,饿不死" engineer walking along the high end goods alley.

We started hunting for some simple meals in the hot afternoon. ToastBox, Ramen shop, posh Italian restaurant, pubs and expensive restaurants at each hotels.. Before everyone gives up, Lipsing suggested Chilie's restaurant.

The flying chili caught my attention

When my Hoe garden beer arrive, mama had finished her Coke-Light...

Mama drank 2 striaght mugs before her food and finished the third by the end of her meal! Even Cayden-boy is fascinated at mama's thirst skill!

After the fantastic lunch, we continued our leisure walks around RWS.

Cayden-boy with mama outside Universal Studio Singapore!

Lipsing and wife were trying to convince me to bringing Cayden-boy and mama into Universal Studio. I knew going to RWS without entering Universal studio is like going to China without visiting the Great Wall of China.. However, the experience at Down Town East the other days reminded me not to.. It gets really turned off when you start hearing attendants telling you that my kid is too small for all games.

I would bring the whole family into the Studio when Cayden-boy is old enough to enjoy the facilities.
I promise.

Mother's Day celebration on the 9th May 2010

There wasn't any post last week.., k'em.. I had a very bad stomach upset the very Sunday night.
To make things worse, my company sent me to Pontian for 2 consecutive days. Got really disappointed when 'the management' starts considering stationing me there for 2~3 weeks to babysit the line. What the heck is an R&D engineer doing at production lines?

Hm..., let's return to mother's day...

Mama keeps reminding me to 'make an appointment' with my brother as he was a part time 'air steward' and to book a place fast. My sloppy attitude finally trigger the panic button on that day during noon time. Surfed my iphone, and tried my luck at HungryGoWhere apps ...

As for mama, she got it well planned... A great great gathering of 3 mothers at Imperial Treasure (Teochew Cuisine) @ Ngee Ann City! She would then boast of planning the lunch since April.. (Whatever....)

All 3 mothers were presented with flowers!

As the adults continue their meals, Cayden-boy only got his apple and banana puffs.... Cayden-boy trying to convince me to give him something else..... haha!

On that night, we went to '乐乐锅', my last minute reservation!

'鸳鸯锅' - Herbal chicken and '四川麻辣' 锅

The hot and spicy 四川麻辣锅 is really fantastic with shabu beef and lamb! I would definitely recommend this place for a friends gathering in a normal days. Its cheap, delicious, air conditioned, and whats more, there is a 'celebrity boss' to seeing you have your meals!

Anyone seen mama and Cayden-boy..?
No doubt the steamboat was great, but on Mother's day, the small eating place is so crowded with diners that all air cons seemed to have malfunctioned!
Cayden-boy started perspiring when we brought him in. Before long, he started fidgeting and making funny noises. Okay... someone has to sacrifice and take care of him...  Without second thoughts, mama brought Cayden-boy to 'have a walk'.

My brother's turn to walk Cayden-boy.

Each one of us takes our turn to walk Cayden-boy along Seng Poh Road. For me, I even strayed into Seng Poh Lane only to discover another makan seafood haven.

Weekend @ Downtown East!

Mama wakes me up from my sleep, eyes beaming with excitement..  'We're going to Downtown East today!"
The reason... ?

Mama managed to get 2 free tickets!

Cayden-boy is always very happy when he is out of the house!

As we can only "choose one of the following at Downtown East", we strolled around the mall, looking out for the best deal for Cayden-boy.

Cayden-boy was too small for Explorer Kid, and Escape theme park..
And since Cayden-boy has yet recover fully from his cold, we opted out for Wild wild wet.. (promising mama that we will be there again.. ) we are left with E!Hub - to sit on the Ferries wheel.

Mama and Cayden-boy poses for a free ride...

Grandpa, grandma, mama and Cayden-boy getting ready for the ride

Mama waves her hand... only to block her face...

Coming an end to the ride...

Cayden-boy sitting on uncle Mcdonald's laps

Taking a break at Mcdonalds, while Cayden-boy takes his puffs.

Anyone notices how Cayden-boy sits? hoho!

Cayden-boy touches the bowling ball for the first time!

Cayden-boy inspires to be a national bowler!

As there is no other options, we decided to have another ride with the 2nd free ticket.. This time, with me joining in the fun!

Cayden-boy enjoying the ride

Although we didn't manage to bring Cayden-boy to wild wild wet, I believe that nothing beats the joy of watching everyone enjoying themselves for the weekend. I never thought that riding the ferries wheel can be so fulfilling!

Cayden-boy's milestone

"Hey, can you help to blog down Cayden-boy's milestone?"

It's a simple, yet difficult task....

I had not been observing the dates of Cayden-boy's progresses!
Mama recites for me...

  • Beginning of 6th month, Cayden-boy is able to sit unsupported for a few seconds
  • End of 6th month, Cayden-boy starts crawling on his tummy
  • By the 7th month, Cayden-boy became a crawling specialist
  • End of 7th month, Cayden-boy starts blabbing
  • On his 8th month birthday, Cayden-boy clinches the "pick of the week" in the mum-center's photo contest!
Cayden-boy is now 8 months and 6 days old.

Cayden-boy sitting in his Bumbo seat - the "CEO picture"

Thinking about Cayden's progress, I begin to read up on Glenn Doman's teachings and findings.
You may say that I am kiasu, but the thought of a brain 'completes its growth at 3 and peaks at 6' tells me that I am losing time....

"I might be a genius if I had the chance to be exposed to Glenn's teachings when I was an infant! "

With this thought in mind, I believe that Cayden-boy should be given the chance since I am aware of Dr. Glenn's findings. I began searching frantically for Glenn Doman's theories - how to let your babies read, do mathematics, etc, etc..

After understanding Glenn's theories, I began hunting for flash cards... Cayden-boy's classes at the baby Jumper Gym is definitely insufficient to quench his thirst for knowledge. In a moment of anxiety, I placed order for some flash cards...

Cayden-boy's first sets of flash cards.. (total weight = 21.8kg)

The weight of these cards really surprised me..And please... don't ask me about the price of the cards.. I don't entertain reporters~  Lol!

With these cards, I disseminate them into several categories... and came with a lesson plan...

Grandma teaches Chinese, grandpa mathematics, uncle encyclopedia, Mama Japanese (supposed to) and me teaches rojak (whatever cards I have, I teach lar)!

Keeping my fingers crossed and hopes that Cayden-boy will be able benefit from these flash cards...
